A Rose is a Rose
Bryony Attwood is a still life photographer based in Hampshire. Her most recent work, A Rose is a Rose, explores the symbolism of the white rose and the shift in its importance in romantic society. The eras following romanticism use the word ‘rose’ to refer to the rose itself, but also imply the archetypal elements of the romantic era. Attwood destroys this deeper meaning of the rose with abstract angles and the use of blood.
