What I Can’t Say
Danielle Gardiner’s project, What I Can’t Say, explores her journey through life dealing with anxiety. Using the process of ‘scanography’ to capture herself whilst experiencing anxious thoughts she punctures our vision of what is “the norm”. Born out of the inability to describe her mental health through words, these photographs are a way of being able to communicate what anxiety feels like. As the project has progressed, Gardiner now uses the photographs and the process of creating them as a form of therapy.
