Alana Ward-Craner,

Black Sun

Alana Ward-Craner’s practice focuses on photography’s objecthood, working with alternative and historic processes and thus highlighting the photograph as both image and object. Her latest project, Black Sun, explores ideas of phenomenological time and investigates her personal attachment to the Neolithic landscape of Avebury Stone Circle in Wiltshire. Revisiting this landscape over a four-week period she produced a series of emulsion transfers, each one a unique representation of both time and place.
