James Ludlow specialises in studio portraiture and photographic retouching. His recent work explores how different genres of music are often portrayed, and how these portrayals can alter the artist’s identity. Ludlow’s work experiments with different genres of music and how one subject’s identity is transformed with each genre. Vinyl record covers have been constructed from portraits of the subject, then colour, font, portrait lighting, and layout have been chosen to give the subject an identity that best fits the genre of music.
