Uma Caruana-Klasson

Uma Maria Caruana-Klasson is a London-based photographer using a blend of documentary and therapeutic photography as an opportunity to communicate to the viewer uncomfortable subjects that surround her: family, culture, and mental health. Uma’s most recent project surrounds her possible diagnosis of Female Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through a collection of self-portraits and a 35mm reactive diary, Uma embraces the impulsivity of the photograph, overexerting her comfort levels and communicating the extremes of the day to day experience.
