Mary Jackson, Dreaming Through Life

Fern Doherty’s practice as a documentary photography often involves subjects and stories from her own life. The subject of Doherty’s latest work, Mary Jackson, Dreaming Through Life, is her grandmother, Mary: an artist, narcoleptic, and eccentric. What began as research into her narcolepsy (a relatively rare sleep disorder), soon became a study of Mary and her environment through the eye of the camera.
