Religion pays for the bricks of architecture

Sadie Rhuddlan’s practice is inspired by her interest in architecture. Her recent series, Religion pays for the bricks of architecture, focuses on wealth within religious landmarks of the renaissance period and contrasts this to the struggles of the working class. The project aims to reveal a side to the renaissance that is often overshadowed by the beauty of the architecture, reflecting on the harsh reality of this era.
