A window in to: lofi hip hop
Thomas Fry’s practice spans both portraiture and documentary. Fry’s, a window into: lofi hip hop, presents an audio and visual representation of the internet music genre ‘lofi hip hop’ as an installation piece. Fry creates a physical platform for the genre using a combination of vinyl, cassette and found imagery. This installation highlights the nostalgic attributes and D.I.Y. aesthetic through the relation between analogue photography and digital output.
